Born in Hong Kong, Winnie moved to Canada when she was a little girl. Her parents moved around, from Montreal to Vancouver to Toronto. In her teenage years, Winnie questioned about the purpose of her existence but muffled those thoughts and continued on pursuing her studies, career, and a white picket fence home, chasing the mirage of a happiness meant checking all of life’s checkboxes.
After many years still feeling a void, unfillable with the worldly things, struggling alone through her divorce, and being a mom of a young child, she leaned into the Lord for help. For the first time she felt his overwhelming love and her heart changed. He is her savior and her God, and she knew then she owed her life to serving Him during all the days of her life. Winnie and was baptized in 2015.
After moving from Stouffville to Toronto in 2020, Winnie started attending Hope Church. Pastor Jason’s honest preaching, a close-knit congregation, and the church’s desire for outreach drew her to choose this church as her home. Two years later God brought Winnie and Matthew together. They wed in a very intimate wedding in front of God in Belfountain, by Matthew’s father. A mother of 3 wonderful boys, a wife to a loving husband, she is so grateful for all of God’s blessings.
