And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17)

The call of Jesus Christ is to follow him and be transformed.

The true follower of Christ is not meant to be static. We’re meant to continually deepen in our relationship with God and His Word. Christianity is not simply about checking off our church attendance week-to-week. Christian witness and mission are not meant to be left to ‘professional Christians’ or missionaries.

You are called to follow Christ, and we want to help you know what a Christ-follower does and how a Christ-follower grows!

We believe there are 3 things which every follower of Jesus Christ must do

It is impossible to follow Christ without abiding in him.

John 15:5

God has designed His Church as a body. In order to follow Christ, I must engage in His family.
Romans 12:5

A true follower of Christ cannot hoard their faith, they are compelled to share and multiply it in others.
Matthew 5:14-16 | 2 Timothy 2:2

All of our discipleship at Hope Church focuses on helping followers of Christ ABIDE in him, CONNECT with other believers, and SHARE their faith with others.

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)

The aim of our ministry is to help you GROW into spiritual maturity.

One of the roles of church leaders and pastors is to help equip every Christian for the work of ministry and to move them towards maturity in Christ-likeness so that they would no longer be immature and fall prey to false doctrine and sinful conduct (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Your next step in growing as a Christ-follower depends on where you are at. Below are several stages of following Christ in which you may find yourself. We want to help you grow at whatever stage of the Christian life you may be at.

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)

Are you curious about Christianity or seeking answers to life’s biggest questions such as: “Where do I come from? How can I find hope? What is my purpose in this life? What happens when we die?”

God’s Word has the answers to these questions and so much more! There is a hope greater than anything this world can offer, a joy that situations and crisis cannot take away and a purpose that transcends temporal pursuits which are based on a truth that is unshakeable.

We want to help you explore Christianity and find answers to life’s most important questions.

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation (1 Peter 2:2)

Have you recently put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation for the first time, or recently renewed your faith in Christ?

We want to help you grow in your faith an lay a solid foundation in the faith to build upon. When we’re just starting in the Christian faith, we need to be fed with the ‘milk’ of God’s Word (1 Corinthians 3:2) so that our faith might grow strong. One of the best ways to do that is together in community and through one-on-one mentorship.

We’ve created the NEW LIFE DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM to help you get started in the faith.

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope…” (Romans 5:3-4)

Have you experienced or are going through a season of suffering, brokenness or hurt? Do you feel hopeless, lost, or stuck and need help to find healing in Jesus Christ?

God’s Word tells us that we can boldly approach the throne of grace to find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We want to help you approach our God who deals gently with those who are hurting (Isaiah 42:3) and heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

Our biblical counsellors and pastors would love to walk with you and help you find healing through the power of God’s Word and see how our suffering is not meaningless, but rather, God uses it to produce something incomparably and eternally valuable in us (cf. James 1:2-4; Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

“Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God” (Hebrews 6:1)

Have you been walking with Christ for some time now and are progressing towards spiritual maturity? Are you desiring to grow in your understanding of theology and the ability to rightly interpret and apply God’s Word?

God’s Word tells us that we are to press on towards maturity in our thinking (1 Corinthians 14:20), towards stability in our walk with Christ (Ephesians 4:14-15), and growing in grace and knowledge (2 Peter 3:18) as we’re conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18).

We believe that Christian community around His Word is essential to growth in spiritual maturity.

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:7-8)

Do you have a desire to disciple or mentor others and help them follow Jesus? Do you want to grow in your readiness to give a reason for the hope in you to those around you? Are you seeking to refine your skills in using the Word and applying it to all areas of life?

The imagery God’s Word gives us is of the soldier, an athlete and a hard-working farmer (2 Timothy 2:2-6). We are always in a spiritual battle and must train ourselves to fight the good fight. It gives us the mandate to take what we have been entrusted with and multiply it to others.

We want to help you train to become an effective disciple-maker.
