“Why Membership?”
The New Testament clearly indicates that groups of people who were followers of the Lord Jesus Christ identified themselves with, and committed themselves to a particular local body. In order to implement the principles of accountability and commitment to the local body of Christ, as defined in the New Testament and practiced in the early church, Hope Church Toronto West recognizes the need for formal membership. Membership at Hope Church Toronto West is for all who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and have visibly demonstrated that commitment through believer’s baptism.

How do I become a formal member?

2. READ OUR BELIEFS & BY-LAWS
What are the beliefs of Hope Church Toronto West? What is the stances on important issues?
3. ATTEND OUR MEMBERSHIP CLASS
What does the Bible say about local church membership? At Hope Church, what do members mutually commit to? What is distinctive about the “life and doctrine” of a Hope Church member? Click the image below to sign up for our next membership class.
4. COMMIT TO THE MEMBER COMMITMENT

5. APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP
Formally apply for membership.
6. MEMBERSHIP INTERVIEW
After you attend the Membership Class and submit the Membership Application, you will be contacted shortly to schedule your Membership Interview. This gives us a chance to learn more about your background and walk through the membership commitment together.
7. TWO-WEEK REVIEW
Your name will be put before the congregation via e-connect for two weeks. During this time, we encourage our members to clear up any relational difficulties in the spirit of Matt 18 and Matt 5. We also ask that our members to encourage you as you take this significant step in the life of our church.
The next batch of member candidate names will be posted in January 2025.
