Why do we exist?
To lead a Spirit-filled (Eph 5:18-19) and Truth-saturated (Col 3:16) community to SING praise unto the Lord (Psalm 147).
What are we marked by?
- Holiness (Rom 12:1)
- Our spiritual worship is about primarily about presenting holy & set-apart lives to God, not the presenting our musical talents. (Rom 12:1)
- We will not be a team who gives God “vain worship” by honouring Jesus with our lips, but having hearts that are far from him. (Matt 15:8-9)
- HUMILITY (John 3:28-30, Isaiah 66:2b)
- Christ is the bridegroom and we’re just his friend. He must increase, but we must decrease. (John 3:23-30)
- This team is a platform to showcase God’s glory, not a stage for self-promotion
What do we do?
We lead the gathered church to sing praises fo the LORD.
How will we be fruitful?
- TRUTH (John 4:24)
- We sing songs of all ages that are in accordance with God’s word. (Ps 119:54)
- We sing a range of themes spanning the genres of the psalms
- SKILL & BEAUTY (Ps 33:3, Ps 147:1)
- We yearn for praise that is the beautiful (Ps 147:1), not a “noisy gong or clanging cymbal”.
- We play/sing skillfully unto the Lord (Ps 33:3). To this end,
- We prize skill and pleasant music at auditions.
- We strive to increase & develop our skillfulness over time.
- We prepare diligently for each worship set.
- ZEAL (Psalm 63:1-4, Romans 12:11)
- In our lives, we will be thirsty and pant after God (Ps 63:1-4).
- In our service, we will be fervent in spirit, not slothful in zeal (Rom 12:11). We will not be lethargic and slothful in leading our people to sing.
